Sewickley man upset about lack of action after hit-and-run
A Sewickley man is worried that someone else might be the victim in a hit-and-run accident like he was involved in a few months ago.
Paul Farkas said he is simply asking drivers to slow down and be careful.
“I reached down to pick up a trash bag and my lanyard got hung up on one of these lower branches,” Farkas said. “When I got a little farther back in the street here with my one foot and leg back, the SUV came along and hit me with the mirror. It spun me around and threw me to the ground.”
Farkas said he was very close to being killed when he was hit in front of his house on Bank Street on Dec. 9.
He said he waited months for police to find the driver responsible for breaking his wrist, but said nothing has been done.
According to police, there were no witnesses, which makes it tough to make an arrest. Police also said they have set up speed checks along the road and haven’t noticed a real problem.
Farkas said he thinks the SUV was dark colored with a PA license plate. He also said it may have sustained side mirror damage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
